Who we are

I'm Mariana Lima, also known as Lima Codes — a software engineer and mentor based in Braga, Portugal. This is my personal site and I am the data controller for it. Controller contact: info@marianalima.tech.

Data we collect

• Analytics (only after you click Accept in the cookie banner): Google Analytics 4 through gtag.js — pages visited, device/browser type, approximate location, and the cookies _ga and _ga_*. Legal basis: your consent.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights (after Accept): aggregated view and performance data. Legal basis: your consent.
• Server logs: when you visit, Vercel's hosting records IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamps for security and reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• On your device only: localStorage stores theme (dark/light choice) and cookie-consent (your accept/reject choice). These never leave your browser.
• Contact messages: when you email info@marianalima.tech, you decide what to send (name, email, what you want to discuss). The website itself does not store contact form data. Legal basis: your request.

How we use data

Analytics to understand visitor flow and improve the site; logs to keep the site secure and stable; contact messages to reply to what you asked about.

Legal basis

Consent (analytics/storage cookies, toggled by the banner), legitimate interest (security logs), and consent (contact emails). Withdraw consent any time via the banner or by clearing cookies.

Cookies & local storage

Analytics cookies only after consent; localStorage only for theme + consent choice. No advertising cookies are loaded; Google Ads IDs are not used on this site.

Service providers

Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) and Vercel Inc (hosting, Web Analytics, Speed Insights) process limited data under their respective Data Processing Agreements. We do not sell personal data and share it only with these processors for the reasons above.

International transfers

Analytics data is processed by Google in the U.S. Transfers rely on current adequacy/transfer mechanisms under EU law; if standards change we will update this policy.

Retention

Google Analytics event data is retained for 14 months by default. Hosting logs are retained for the period documented by Vercel. Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry.

Your rights (GDPR)

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Write to info@marianalima.tech; we respond within one month. You may also complain to the Portuguese data-protection authority, CNPD.

Minors

This site is aimed at adults; it is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS; no server-side storage of personal data is performed by this site itself.

Changes

Updates are published on this page with a new date at the top.
